| Deborah B. Winans8368 Windsor Drive
Deborah Bezdan Winans was first elected to the Board of Supervisors for the Mechanicsville District in 2008. After a year as Vice Chairman, she was elected Chairman of the Board in Jan. 2011, becoming only the second woman ever to serve as the Board’s Chairman and the first in 30 years. She also represents the Board on the Capital Area Alcohol Safety Action Program Advisory Board, Historical Commission, Hanover’s Promise, the James River Advisory Council, the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization Board, the MPO Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee, the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission and the Social Services Board. Internally, she is a member of the Board’s Finance, Legislative and Rules committees. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond and a 2009 graduate of the Virginia Certified County Supervisors Program Mrs. Winans is currently the database manager for Richmond Hill. She graduated from Lee-Davis High School and attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. She is Past President of the Hanover County Council of PTA’s, the Chickahominy Middle School and Atlee High School PTA’s and the Village of Mechanicsville, Inc. With all of the different boards she attends, Debbie still finds time to enjoy helping care for her family’s small farm and pets as well as spending time with her family and friends.
