High Speed Internet Committee
About the High-Speed Internet Committee
The High-Speed Internet Committee (HSIC) was created in January 2011 by the Board of Supervisors after a 2010 ad hoc citizens' committee and January 2011 County staff presentation illustrated the high speed internet reliable coverage challenges that exist in the rural areas of the County. The committee made a final report to the Board of Supervisors in March 2012. The County continues to rely upon private sector providers for this service but makes its communications towers available for those providers.
