Vision & Mission

In Spring 2002, the Board of Supervisors established the official vision and mission for Hanover County government in an effort to "remain focused on those activities appropriate and critical for local government." The following statements are the Board members' standards for focused County government.

Vision Statement

Hanover - where a family of communities, inspired by its people, traditions, spirit and history, is the foundation for its future.

Mission Statement

The mission of Hanover government is to provide a quality of life that is defined, encouraged and supported by the community itself,

• Where government focuses efficiently and effectively on the general well-being, education and safety of the people, and
   
• Where service delivery is based on sound financial practices, and
   
• Where growth is managed in creative and innovative ways.
