Hanover County Public Schools Inclement Weather Use of Facilities Policy:
The extended period of inclement weather combined with the differences in weather conditions that may exist from one end of the county to another, encourages a position that supports flexible use of facilities. When schools are closed on Friday, all activities are cancelled for Friday. The status of Saturday/Sunday events, however, falls to the discretion of the school principal to allow or disallow activities as originally scheduled. Factors to be considered are safety related. We do not wish to jeopardize the safety of anyone, nor place anyone in a libelous position by allowing access to school property when conditions are not safe due to snow or ice.

What do I do if I need special accommodations?
Hanover County Parks and Recreation encourages individuals with disabilities to participate in any program or class offered through the Department. If any special assistance is needed to participate in a program, please contact our Recreation Coordinator (Therapeutic) at (804) 365-4695 at least 15 days prior to the start of the program to further discuss these needs.
