History of Poor Farm Park:
Beginning in the 1900's this "Poor Farm" was used to take care of those in need around the area. Various families over the years were hired by the County to care for those staying on the farm. Familes staying at the farm were given three meals a day and would participate in daily chores on the farm. After funding for this project was cut, the families moved away and the property was rented. After years of nonuse, the house became dilapiated and in the early Seventies was used as a fire training exercise. None of the other buildings remain standing.
