Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all classes and programs. Don't let a good program die, register early!

Participants will be registered on a first come, first served basis. Register early - class sizes are limited and may fill up before the deadline occurs.

Refund Policy

For classes or activities requiring pre-registration and pre-payment, refunds will be given with written request prior to the class/program date. Materials portion of fees may not be refunded. Full refunds will be issued for programs that are full or cancelled by the department, if a change in day, time or location prohibits participants attendance or if participant withdraws prior to the first day of class meeting. If a participant wishes to withdraw from a mulit-day class/program after the first meeting date, they must do so within two business days and their refund is subject to a $5 processing fee. To request a refund, submit a Refund Request Form to the Department of Recreation. Refunds may take up to four weeks to process. Refunds will not be considered once a program has ended. Refund requests may be considered on a case by case basis.

Inclement Weather Policy

When Hanover County Public Schools are closed due to inclement or adverse weather conditions, all recreational programs and activities will be cancelled. Hanover County Public Schools Inclement Weather Use of Facilities Policy
The extended period of inclement weather combined with the differences in weather conditions that may exist from one end of the county to another, encourages a position that supports flexible use of facilities. When schools are closed on Friday, all activities are cancelled for Friday. The status of Saturday/Sunday events, however, falls to the discretion of the school principal to allow or disallow activities as originally scheduled. Factors to be considered are safety related. We do not wish to jeopardize the safety of anyone, nor place anyone in a libelous position by allowing access to school property when conditions are not safe due to snow or ice.
