This event is held annually on the 2nd Saturday in July.

Is there an admission cost to attend the festival?
No.
Is this Festival a rain or shine event?
Yes, the Festival will be held rain or shine.
Is food available for purchase at the Festival?
Yes, please check out our list of food vendors.
Are dogs allowed at the Festival?
Non aggressive dogs are allowed at the Festival and must be on a leash at all times.
Can I purchase Hanover Tomatoes at the Festival?
Hanover Tomatoes will be available for purchase at the Festival while supplies last.
Are your tomatoes really from Hanover?
Yes, the tomatoes being sold at the Hanover Tomato Festival are supplied by Dodd's Acres Farm, located on Market Road in the Black Creek area of Hanover County. The Dodd's have worked their Hanover County 300-acre farm since the mid 1970's.
How many people usually attend this Festival?
Last year over 31,000 in attendance
Is there handicapped parking?
Yes there is handicapped parking. Please be sure to have your parking pass displayed prior to arriving at Pole Green Park.
Are wheelchairs available to use at the Festival?
Wheelchairs are not provided at the event however, Pole Green Park is handicap accessible.
Will there be activities for the children?
There will be plenty of activities for children including face painting, arts & crafts, games, mechanical rides, petting zoo, Best Dressed Hanover Tomato Contest, and much more.

Vendor Questions
How can I participate as a non food vendor?
Vendor Applications will be available for download December 20, 2012. Complete applications with payment will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
What is the deadline to send in my application?
New this year is an Early Bird discount. Return complete applications and payment by 5/1/13 and recieve your booth space for $125. Applications recieved after this date will be $150.
Complete applications with payment will be considered on a first come, first served basis until all vendor spaces are filled.
Do you accept on line applications?
Applications are not accepted on line but will be available for download December 20, 2012
How will I find out if my Vendor application has been approved or not?
Upon receipt of completed application and full payment, a confirmation will be mailed to you. Applications will be reviewed regularly - approval status will be emailed or mailed to you within 14 business days. Vendor packet with both number and parking passes will be mailed to you by June 21st, 2013.
If I get approved to participate as a Vendor, what do I need to bring with me to the festival?
Please bring your own tables, chairs, tables, and all other items needed for your booth space. If you have requested and been approved for electricity, you must bring your own extension cord. If your booth requires electricity there will be an additional fee of $75. Please complete the Electricity Request Form and return it with your application along with additional fee.
Is there a different cost to participate as a non profit agency?
New this year is an Early Bird discount. Return complete applications and payment by 5/1/13 and recieve your booth space for $125. Applications recieved after this date will be $150. Hanover County Government Agencies will receive one booth space at no charge and will be charged $125 per additional space.
How can I apply to be a Food Vendor?
Food Vendor Applications will be available for download on December 20, 2012. Priority registration (for previous Hanover Tomato Festival food vendors) will be open until January 25, 2013. If space is available after priority registration, completed applications with payment will be considered on first come, first served basis.
Can I request a specific booth or corner space?
We are not taking requests for a specific booth or corner space. The Hanover Tomato Festival Executive Board reserves the right to assign booth spaces according to the event layout.
Do you allow Franchised or Trademark representatives to become vendors?
Yes, only one representative per company/product will be approved. Applications will be considered on a first come, first serve basis.
Where do I find a list of participating vendors?
Once approved, vendors will be listed on the web site’s vendor page. This page will be updated periodically.
Can I drive my vehicle to my booth space to unload?
Vehicular field access for booth supply drop off/unloading is limited to Friday ONLY. There will be absolutely no vehicular access to the event field on Saturday, July 13 for unloading purposes.
Friday, July 12: Check in will be available from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and field access will close promptly at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 13: Check in begins at 5:30 a.m. the day of the event, where vendors will be responsible for transporting all items from their vehicle to their booth space. There will be absolutely no vehicular access to the event field on Saturday, July 13 for unloading purposes.
All vendors must be set up by 8:30 a.m.

Entertainment/Contest Questions
My band would like to be a part of the entertainment. Where should I send my demo CD?
Please mail you demo CD to Hanover Tomato Festival, 13017 Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland, VA 23005. Demos will not be returned.
How can I participate in the Hanover Tomato Contest?
Please complete the Hanover Tomato Contest Form located on the Contests page.

When is the Little Miss/Tiny Miss Hanover Tomato pageant? How can I apply?
Applications will be available February 1, 2013. Check our Contests page to obtain the application once it is available. Early registration fee is $40 until April 15, 2013. After this date, fee will be $50.
Will my child need to bring anything to participate in the “Best Dressed Tomato” Contest the day of the Festival?
No. All supplies will be available for dressing up the tomatoes.
