On Saturday, Dec. 5, the consortium will present a Holiday Craft Fair and Open House at Hanover Tavern from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; a re-enactment of Patrick Henry’s famous “Parson’s Cause” case in the historic Courthouse at noon; tours of the Courthouse led by the Hanover Historical Society until 4 p.m.; and a Christmas Open House at Scotchtown from 7:30-9:30 on Saturday night and again on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. (There is a $5 admission fee for the open house at Scotchtown).
At 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Mechanicsville Village Christmas Parade will be held.
The Road to Revolution Heritage Trail Consortium is a cooperative alliance of historical associations, non-profit foundations and other organizations that own and operate historic sites associated with the life and times of Hanover’s own Patrick Henry, the ‘orator of the American Revolution’ and Virginia’s first elected governor.
