Comprehensive Plan Update 2012
Hanover County has routinely reviewed the Comprehensive Plan per the requirements of Virginia Code Section 15.2-2230, that states at least once every five years the comprehensive plan shall be reviewed by the local planning commission to determine whether it is advisable to amend the plan.
The Comprehensive Plan is an analysis of past growth and land development trends and sets forth a statement of goals and objectives with a 20 year horizon for land use, transportation and community facilities. The last update to the Comprehensive Plan for Hanover County occurred in 2007 and the Hanover County Board of Supervisors included commencement of the update for 2012-32 as one of the FY ‘12 initiatives.
This website is intended to help citizens understand the process of the 2012 Comprehensive Plan update by providing information, as it develops, on the 2012 Comprehensive Plan as well as an opportunity to send comments to the Planning staff. The site will be updated as new information is prepared and meetings concerning the project are scheduled.
