Court Services

This unit is supervised by a Lieutenant and two Sergeants and is comprised of 19 Deputy Sheriff's and an administrative assistant.

The security and operation of the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts is provided by the Courts Services section. Responsibilities of the Court Services section include: serving all civil processes; including DMV notices; bills of complaints; detinue actions; levies and other notices; and the transportation of prisoners to and from courts, jails and surrounding jurisdictions. Extradition transports from jurisdictions outside the State of Virginia are included in the transportation duties.
