The Town of Ashland is made up of 7.2 square miles of territory. From north, the Town line extends southeast from Rt. 1 and Ellett’s Crossing Road to Woodside Lane. From Rt. 54 and Woodside, the Town line follows the Dominion Power lines southwest across I95 down to Rt. 1 just below Johnson Road. From there the line runs diagonal to Gwathney Church Road to Ashcake Road. The line then follows Stony Run to Rt. 54 to Chapman Street and then northeast back to Ellett’s Crossing Road: 87 calls for service were made by the Hanover County Sheriff's Office in this area in April 2013.
